Restoration of Spirit

Restore Your Home, Restore Your Spirit!

It's time to change. One thing we can count on for sure is change. The seasons change, feelings change and people can change. I believe our mission and vision can change but can our destiny change? In the 70's the Brady Bunch sang, "When it's time to change, you've got to rearrange, who you are into what you're gonna be...if you want to reach your destiny!" The Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu said "When you correct your mind, everything else falls into place." Correcting our mind has a lot to do with who we want to be, what we desire and what we value. Getting to where we want to go becomes secondary.

You can change yourself just by changing your thinking and even actions but then what are you gonna be? Where are you going? By now I know who I am and who I wanna be. But what about destiny?

Can we really set out on our journey knowing our destiny or only our desired destination? Can our experiences shape our vision for our future and our day to day mission? For me, my vision and mission are honed every day, with every step I take. However, I know who I am and what my values are and that is at the core of my vision. I don't know if I have control of my destiny but I can shift my mission to allow God's will to intervene. Sometimes he shouts "STOP" or throws in a massive detour and the route takes a twist or turn. Ultimate destination? Not there yet! Destiny unknown.

I believe there is a time and place on the journey to create and realize a personal vision and mission. It may not be at the begining of the journey. Discover what are you all about. Experience and discovery can help identify values and desires which are imperative in establishing a long term vision for ourselves and a daily mission to live by. Our strengths, gifts and talents help shape our long term strategy or approach to reaching that vision and creating our legacy. Our goals and plans guide us to action daily, weekly and monthly. How do you want ot spend your time on earth?

Change your mind. Change yourself. Be the change you want to see in the world. Sha, na, na, na, na, na, na - sha, na, na, na, na!
