Restoration of Spirit

Restore Your Home, Restore Your Spirit!

Want to be happier, calmer and younger looking, instead of stressed, depressed and anxious? Then just meditate. Ideally for 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes late in the day. There is probably not anything I would suggest over meditation to definitely include in your healing practice. No matter how busy we get living our dream or achieving our goals, I believe we need to make time for meditation. Without it, especially during busy or stressful times, we can get out of whack or as the civilized folk say, unbalanced.

Meditation simply means to contemplate or ponder and doesn't have to be a complicated step by step process. I like to think of it as a quieting of the mind, a stillness or an emptying, although it is a training of attention to become alert, present and aware. It doesn't have to be done only sitting in the lotus position and doesn't have to be a formal guided mediation. I like to do walking meditations (so does my dog) or meditate during massage (which rarely happens these days). Think about a manicure/pedicure meditation, a listening to the birds or waves meditation or any other creative thing you think of where you can let your thoughts go and become fully present in the moment. Meditation becomes a spiritual state but remember, it is called a practice for a reason! A lot of practice makes for a perfect spiritual state. Hopefully, it's a life long practice!
